About Us
Driven by passion
Working to support other like-minded entities & organizations, our goal is to help achieve optimal outcomes for dogs who may need additional support to become adoptable & find their forever homes.
While we may assist with a medical Shelter or Rescue dog situation if needed and if we have the funds, that is not our focus. And we are not a “rescue”– we do not house dogs.
We work to support organizations who do take in dogs. As such, we do not work directly with individuals to surrender dogs. Ashland County is our primary focus but not exclusively.
FOACD’s focus areas are:
assisting with enrichment for dogs during their stay at the shelter
funding training & resources to help shelter dogs become more adoptable
supporting foster families of Shelters or Rescues– fostered dogs are generally more adoptable because they are housebroken, crate trained and are calmer in a home setting
other projects and needs that “help dogs” (such as new Shelter play yard, etc)
exceptions evaluated on a case – by - case basis
